Hey there!
I’m Aubrey (she/her/hers).
My journey to becoming a therapist started while I was working in the film industry as a photographer, videographer, and editor. During my time in that fast-paced world, I became increasingly interested in mental health, solely because of my own experiences as a client. Therapy helped me a lot, and I realized just how crucial it is to have that kind of support. When COVID hit and everything shut down, I took a step back and thought about what really mattered. I saw how long waitlists were for others wanting therapy and how many people were struggling to get help. That’s when I decided to pursue therapy as a career—not just for myself, but to help reduce those wait times and make mental health support more accessible to others. I’m excited to now be on this path, combining my passion for helping people with my desire to make a real difference in the mental health stigma.
In my practice, I integrate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to help clients build practical skills for managing emotions, improving thought patterns, and navigating life’s challenges. CBT focuses on identifying and changing negative thought patterns, while DBT emphasizes emotional regulation, mindfulness, and developing healthier coping strategies. Together, these approaches offer a well-rounded framework for personal growth and healing. Working with me will feel easy and comfortable, like it would if you were grabbing coffee with a friend and talking about your week. I shy away from a professional tone and believe the therapeutic relationship is the most important groundwork to establish. I have a lot of different, relatable life experiences and consider myself well versed in a variety of challenges and life paths, therefore will make the space comfortable for any topic.
In my free time, I love to go to as many concerts as I can and will deep dive music (almost daily)! I also love spending time with my golden retriever boy named Finley and exploring all that California has to offer, since I'm from the East Coast :)
